April 2026

Dear Hudtloff Families,

Welcome Back from Spring Break!

As we return from Spring Break, we’re kicking off 4th quarter—the final stretch of the school year. This is a great time for students to reset, refocus, and finish strong. This the month, students will complete their Spring STAR Reading and Math assessments, giving us valuable insight into their growth and helping guide instruction for the remainder of the year.

Spring Sports: Coed Football practices start April 6.2026, with Coed Cross Country and Girls Volleyball starting practices on April 13, 2026.

National Student Leadership Week: APRIL 20-24: Hudtloff is committed to creating meaningful opportunities for students to share their voice, provide feedback, and take on leadership roles within our school community. Our ASB/Leadership students play an essential part in building school spirit and supporting schoolwide events. They plan and run all major assemblies—including Spirit, Veterans Day, Martin Luther King Jr., and Memorial Day—and they organize school dances and fun nights throughout the year. In addition, Leadership students operate the Student Store and manage concessions during sporting events, gaining valuable experience in responsibility, teamwork, and service.

Bus Driver Appreciation Day: April 28, 2026: This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize the dedicated professionals who safely transport our students to and from school each day. Our bus drivers greet students with patience, care, and consistency, helping set a positive tone for the day and ensuring they return home safely in the afternoon.

A rectangular sign with a red border displays a 'No Phone Zone' message.Cell Phones: Cell phones significantly reduce learning time by fragmenting attention, increasing off‑task behavior, and extending the time students need to complete academic work.

Hudtloff has a No Cell Phones policy in classrooms, and we are asking for your partnership in reinforcing this expectation at home. Let your student know that you support this rule and understand why it matters.

This is not about punishment. It is about:

  • Protecting valuable learning time
  • Reducing stress and social pressure
  • Helping students stay focused and present.

Your encouragement makes a real difference in helping students build healthy habits and succeed in school.
